Terri Clark's Family
She has a mother named Linda and father Lester Sauson. But now, has a stepfather named Peter Clark. Her mother has a passion for country music just as her and plays guitar. She would play guitar to her as a child beside her bed at night and sing songs such as "Daddy Frank" and "The Long Black Veil." She worked at coffee houses as a singer and enjoyed the art of music. Linda Clark has inspired her daughter greatly and its because of her that Terri decided to take the path of music because when Terri was nine years old her mother taught her, her first strings on the guitar and after that Terri never stopped playing. She learned the rest by herself and continued singing with her family and her grandparents especially.
Unfortunately, on Sunday, April 4, 2010 died to cancer.

“If you think about the person closest to you, who has been your whole life, the one person you can’t imagine not being here — almost an extension of you, that would be my mother for me.” When Terri had an interview with "The Boot" in 2007, she said that she knew for sure that her mother loves her, when they whether her mother loved her or not. Terri also talked about how, what she knows for sure is that if you don't have good health, you have nothing because she says even if you are the most famous person in the world or the richest, if you get bad health and there's no actual cure, there is nothing that you can do unfortunately. After the interview, it is said that it is absolutely certain that she is very close to her mother.

Terri's mom was a very positive influential person in her life. She says, both personally and professionally. While, her mother was fighting cancer, she was inspired to create her seventh album called "The Long Way Home," which she made herself. In it, she expresses her feelings which are a mixture of sorrow, loneliness, anger and just how she feels about having her mother as such a supportive and influential person to her in her life and how her mother is fighting hard and staying strong.
“When you see someone fighting as hard as my Mom was, it strikes you the things that matter,” Terry said on an interview. Her exact words she said on that interview are
“To her, life was everything. It was about personal integrity, her family, the things she loved about living … and I realized I couldn’t make my music for any less. My fans deserved that from me, especially after the stories they tell me about things my music’s gotten them through over the years.” Even though she has been through grief during her mother's sickness and after her death, her mother has taught her to stay strong and to not let go of your dreams and give up. If a sad moment occurs in your life, don't break down and let go of your dreams. Terri's mom has always been influential to her and when she died because of her life lessons Terri continued with her music career and created her seventh album, "The Long Way Home."
